What is the Fall Tennessee Wellness Retreat?

 L I F E Wellness Retreats are built to provide an opportunity for you to grow in many ways.  You can expect passion, empathy and an encouraging atmosphere to "unzip" and make new friends.  The more you dive in, the more you will take away.


Mission:

To provide a positive experience for individuals to be present, to learn and to engage.  

* Be present… in nature, with ourselves & with others.

* To learn… through wellness topics, movement and recharge time.

* To engage… in meaningful conversations in the locale of the Tennessee foothills at the peak of the leaves changing.


Travel:  Join us on a meaningful trip to beautiful Beersheba Springs, TN.  Wellness retreats can be one of the best forms of education as well as an integral contributor to our growth.  Someone once said, "Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone"...  so come meet like minded people in an experience guaranteed to boost your health & fulfillment.

Health:  Healthy living begins with the mind, body and soul.  Each day offers sunrise beginnings, designed movement (scalable to any level) and the opportunity to build camaraderie through flex time in nature.  Our healthy meals are made onsite by an experienced chef.   

Fulfillment:  Fill your cup each day with positive perspective through our movement sessions, huddles (wellness discussions) and "structured unstructured" time.  This combination along with organic engagement and quality conversations will recharge and reenergize you.  Come allow yourself to "unzip" and make meaningful connections with others in a beautiful setting.

Logistics

- Dates:  November 6-8th (Friday 2pm - Sunday 2pm)


- Cost breakdown :  

Different lofts provide various combinations of King beds, Queen, Full, Double and/or Singles.  Some rooms have ensuite bathroom.  Pricing per room based on specific room reserved as well as single or double occupancy.  Room types are on a first come first reserve basis.  


The loft and room availability is in the Location section below.  When registering, specify the loft and the room as these are on a first come first serve and will be deemed unavailable upon your registration.


*  Double Occupancy:     $766pp.

     - Shared sleeping in a King or Queen with ensuite (or with own) bathroom

*  Double Occupancy:     $726pp.

      - Shared sleeping in a King or Queen bed with a shared bathroom.

*  Double Occupancy (Shared Room):    $716pp.

      - Combo of Queen, Double, Full or Single beds shared in the same room with a     

         shared bathroom.

*  Single Occupancy:   Higher rate in room by yourself is double the pricing above.


- Pricing includes everything needed for the weekend including accommodations with linens/towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, scheduled activities, six chef-made meals, LIFE swag (hat and sticker) and more. 


- Activities included:   Fitness/movement workouts led by fitness professional, wellness discussions ("huddles"), hikes, campfires, relax time, and structured unstructured time overlooking the valleys.   All activities included are highly encouraged but optional.

Limited Spots

This Fall Tennessee Retreat will have 29 available spots.  A deposit of $350 per person is due at registration, with balance due by August 5th, 2026.  If canceling after August 5th, deposit will not be refunded.  If canceling after Sept 5th, 2026 (60 days out),  50% of trip will not be refunded and rest of balance may be used as credit for future retreat.  If canceling after October 5th, 2026 (30 days out),  100% of trip will not be refunded.

Hosts

L I F E  Wellness Retreats are led by Bird Thompson:  fitness professional, experienced traveller, cuisine enthusiast and group dynamic guru.  Bird is an ACE certified personal trainer with over 15 years of professional service including individuals of all genres/levels, small and large groups/teams, professional athletes and more.  He also serves as director of various summer camps that focus on enrichment, experiential learning and leadership development. These wellness focuses attribute to the vision of positive perspective.  Bird's extensive traveling experience includes leading individuals and small groups as well as personally visiting 48 out of 50 States, backpacking Europe around 17 countries, living in Australia and Fiji for 6 months and in New Zealand for a year, and spending extended time in many Caribbean destinations.  More info about Bird is on the ABOUT page.  Click below for resumé.


Co Host of the  Fall Tennessee Retreat is Lanie Keen.  Lanie is a part-time group fitness coach, retired community development consultant, full-time mom, and serial hobbyist.

Her work has always centered around closing the gap between resources and unrealized potential.  She is a NASM-certified personal trainer, Pro Coach with one of the nation’s largest group fitness franchises, holds a bachelor and master’s degree in something totally unrelated to fitness, and received a Design Thinking certificate from IDEO.

When she’s not coaching, you can find Keen attempting to become a professional baker, trail running, feeding the cows on her farm north of Nashville, or reading Llama Llama for the 17th time in a row. 

Resumé

Food & Chef

The Fall Tennessee Retreat will be prepared by Executive Chef Gillian Jonathas.  "Chef G" is a classically trained  pastry chef with 20 years of experience of baked good and savory items.  She graduated from French Pastry school in Chicago in 2006 and began her career making cakes and pastries for the Chicago Elite.  In 2013 she began her savory cooking in Chicago and then moved to Charlotte, NC as Chef for Kindred in Davidson.  Chef G's passion is now carrying her heart son's (Maximus) legacy as she services all of Camp LUCK's Camps where she prepares and executes the meal plan for over 250 people.  She also serves as a Board Member for Camp LUCK, an organization that provides programs, support and on-site camps for kids with congenital heart disease and their families.  Oh, and a full time mom of three!


We are so excited and grateful to have Chef G prepare our food for the retreat.  Our meal plan will consist of 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners.  Each meal will be plentiful and thoughtfully organized for flavor and balanced nutrition.  All dietary requests and restrictions can be met by Chef G, and will be planned for prior to the retreat.    Please be sure to communicate these.  

Location

Our Fall Tennessee Wellness Retreat will be held at The Tree Lofts.  Nestled in the serene woodlands of Tennessee, The Tree Lofts offer a modern-rustic escape.  The thoughtfully curated cabins blend contemporary design with the timeless beauty and calming presence of the outdoors.

Westside (Four Lofts):  The meals and huddles will be hosted on this side of the bluff at the Top of the Rock cabin.

      * Top of the Rock:  RESERVED.

      * Greeter Loft:  2 BR/1BA - Queen/Single bunkbed, Double bed, shared bathroom - (Total of 4 people double occupancy - $716pp)

      * Stone Door Loft:  RESERVED.  2 BR/1BA - Queen & single separate beds, Double bed, shared bathroom - (Total of 4 people double occupancy - $716pp)

      * Cumberland Plateau:  Single & single (one RESERVED) in loft, Double bed, shared bathroom - (Total of 4 people double occupancy - $716pp)


Eastside (Three Lofts ):   *  FYI - Those staying in these lofts will have a 5 minute drive to the Westside for meals/huddles.  Maximum drive over would be 1x Friday, 2x Saturday, 1x Sunday.

     * The Lookout:  RESERVED. 2 BR/2BA - King w/ own bathroom, Queen ensuite - (Total of 4 people double occupancy - $766pp)

     * The Rock House:  3BR/3BA - King w/ own bathroom (RESERVED), Queen ensuite (RESERVED), Queen bunkbed & single bunkbed with shared bathroom - (Total of 6 people double occupancy - $766pp for King/Queen and $716pp for Bunk)

     * The Perch:  3BR/2BA  - Queen bunkbed with shared bathroom (downstairs), King with shared bathroom, Queen ensuite - (Total of 6 people double occupancy - $766pp for Queen, $726pp for King and $716pp for Bunk)
